Writing is a way to externalize thinking and feeling. The ability to write well creates a well rounded individual who can organize and express to others his or her thoughts and ideas. This class goal is to to educate you on how to write creatively within different structures, to learn to enjoy the process of writing, and to find your own voice and writing style.
This website will help you by making you aware of some excellent internet resources as well as listing assignments. I urge you to read continuously. Deconstruct your favorite writers - what do they do to make you want to read their work? What kind of verbs do they use? How do they deal with dialogue? What is most compelling about their style?
